Dryer balls look like spiky tennis balls. I use them in my dryer to speed up the drying process, thus saving me money in electricity. The idea behind them is that they help to separate the clothes, prevent pilling and prevent static as they are being rotated in the dryer. They certainly seem to decrease the drying time and the dry clothes certainly have no static. They can be bought for less than ten dollars at most hardware and home-ware stores. For that small investment they are well worth while.
