Does anyone know any other ways to whiten cotton sheets, towels and pillowcases without using bleach or Nappy San? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Drying in bright sunlight whitens whitens my nappies. I have heard that leaving clothes on line during frosty night also whitens.

I heard Wendyl Nissen on the radio saying that adding blue food colouring or Prussian Blue (apparently you can buy it on TradeMe from time to time) into the final rinse will bring whites back to life. I've tried the food colouring and it didn't really work - maybe I didn't put enough in. I also see that Wendyl is now selling her Green Goddess blueing powder on Trademe but I haven't tried it. If you decide to give it a go, let us know how you get on. Good luck!

Hi, Ive never tried this myself but i collect a lot of natural cleaning tips/books etc and one recipe reccomended for linen thats yellowing is soaking it in a bucket of water over night with a teaspoon of cream of tartar then dry in the sun. Ive soaked stained cloth nappies in a bucket with 10-20 drops of Eucalyptus oil in it and this seems to get stains out really well so should work with linens. Hope this helps!
